the truth 2 wraps up with gleefully ridiculous plots + costumes

I’ll miss my weekday entertainment with the conclusion of the fun, zany second season of The Truth. The good-looking cast barely batted an eyelash when faced with ridiculous farfetched murder cases and dressed in crazy costumes and characters. Loved the rapport between the cast and it was such a treat to have two of my absolute faves, Liu Yuning and Zhang Linghe, in one show together.

Liu Yuning is sharp, street-smart, and witty. Loved how he played the main emcee savvily without stealing the limelight. He was quick in solving puzzles and mysteries, and had to play X so many times. His fear of darkness was hilarious, clinging to his little brothers. Plus, he looked hot in all the costumes.

Zhang Linghe is a lovable, brainy dork behind that handsome mien. He solved many of the puzzles and pulled off the weird costumes with aplomb. Love his chemistry with Liu Yuning.

Dilraba Dilmurat was quite a surprise in the sense that she was wasn’t too affected or diva-like in the show despite her star status. She wasn’t girly or cutesy either, which added to her charm. I liked her a lot in this show, and appreciated that she assimilated with the boys so well.

A bit of gossip regarding this show. I did notice Liu Yuning was super duper nice to Dilraba, but that’s not unexpected since he’s probably the most familiar to her among the cast. However, there has been some buzz that the two appeared really close if one observed their interactions. I think they make a nice pair, and it would be great if they acted together in a romance, where Liu Yuning will play the main lead. If that happens, it would be the fourth time they would be working together.

I hope there will be a third season with the same cast, including Zhou Keyu and Bai Yu.
